- music bands wanted (Worcester (Central), MA)
I've decided rather than book our band for a show and rely on the venue and/or booking agent to set up the details, i'd rather do it myself. I'm looking for bands local to Central, MA. to play some shows with us. I wish I could give you a demo to listen to, give you a better idea as whether you want to play with us, but I don't have it yet. Working on it right now. However, I can tell you we play rock/alternative, kind of indy, sometimes synth. To be honest i wouldn't know what to call us just yet. Presently going by the name Dental Plan. We're debating keeping it.
Also, we're looking to play venues such as Tammany Hall, Ralph's Diner, Lucky Dog (Worcester) to begin with, moving out east and west afterwards.
If you and your band would be interested send me a reply. If you have a demo or a myspace or website or anything i can check out that would be awesome.
Cheers.

- Looking for Cat or Dog Show contestants (Providence)
I am a Design and Photography student at the Rhode Island School of Design, creating a unique photo project on Show animals and the people who own them (this is NOT depicting anyone in a negative light). I've already photographed a variety of Cat shows in the Vermont area and am looking to photograph people and their show pets in their home or studio environment.
This would be extremely NONinvasive and I would only ask an hour or so with several of my personal cameras (no heavy lights or equipment) to basically hang out in your home/office with your pet.
As thanks, I can offer a finished hardcover professionally printed photo book of the project, as well as your name and pet's info (if desired) to be included in the book. Also, if any of the photos I take you would like to have as payment instead, for your pet's show book or portfolio, that can be arranged no problem.

The Meadow, a 20-minute independent film to be shot on the Red camera, is seeking three principle actors. Shooting will take place in the Boston area from January 10th to January 16th. The film is about two lovers and the pact that they made to return to each other no matter what. We watch the protagonist, Ryan, travel literally through hell to reach the woman that he loves. Parts being cast are:
RYAN: Mid-20Â’s to mid-30Â’s. White, medium height and build. Clean cut, not overly confident or aggressive. Despite his laid back and shy nature, Ryan will do anything to reconnect with Bridget, the love of his life. He is dedicated and optimistic, and believes that the pact that he made with Bridget will allow them to overcome any obstacles.
BRIDGET: Mid-20Â’s to mid-30Â’s. Medium height, slender. Sexy, but in an understated way. Bridget is a bartender, and is very good at her job. Confident and self-assured. Wants to be with Ryan, but views the world more realistically than he does, and understands that it may not be possible.
CLIVE: Mid-30Â’s to late 40Â’s. Built like a brick house: tall and thick. Has a mean, tough, devilish exterior that matches his interior. He is a realist to the point of being pessimistic, and snarls more than he speaks. DoesnÂ’t care about anyone but himself.
Auditions will be held on Friday, November 7th, from 6:00-9:00pm at 150 Boylston Street, room 117 and on Saturday, November 8th, from 2:00-5:00pm at 150 Boylston Street, room 113. Please e-mail themeadowfilm@gmail.com if interested in auditioning for a copy of the script and scenes to read at the audition. - Casting Call for Independent Short Film

Shooting dates are yet to be finalized, but would take place over 3-4 days in early January 2009. Please note that script is action-heavy, and so all four principal actors MUST be comfortable doing their own light-to-moderate stunt work. Characters needed are:
BRIDGET: early-to-mid-20Â’s. Main female character. Has just become engaged to her boyfriend, Ryan, when the couple are attacked in an alley by two thieves. Actor MUST be comfortable doing her own light stunt work.
RYAN: mid-to-late 20Â’s. Main male character. Has just proposed to his girlfriend, Bridget, when the couple are attacked in an alley by two thieves. Actor MUST be comfortable doing his own stunt work.
PORTER: early-to-late 30Â’s. Tall, thin, pale. One of the two thieves who attacks Bridget and Ryan. Has some sense of regret during the attack. Actor MUST be comfortable doing his own stunt work.
STEPHEN: early-to-late 30Â’s. Looming, dark, scruffy. One of the two thieves who attacks Bridget and Ryan. Shows no remorse during the attack. Actor MUST be comfortable doing his own stunt work.
BIGS: Child, can be between 8-12 years old. Mysterious and dark. Bigs is homeless, with a muddled back story, and “owns” the alley in which the attack takes place.
YOUNG RYAN: Child, can be between 8-12 years old. Only needed for one flashback scene.
Casting will take place on Sunday, October 26th, from 6:00 – 9:00pm at 150 Boylston Street, room 114 and on Tuesday, October 28th, from 6:00 – 9:00pm at 150 Boylston Street, room 232.
Attached is a .pdf version of the script. Please read through and select a portion that you would like to read as an audition. Although the two children's parts do not have lines, we are still asking all child actors to come to an audition so that we can get a sense of how you act without dialogue.

Zeitgeist Stage Company will kick-off its eight season with the American premiere of the original three act version of Edward Albee's Seascape, October 3 through 25 at the Boston Center for the Arts Plaza Theater.
Seascape is one of Edward Albee's most expressionistic works, depicting an encounter between a retirement age couple picnicking on a beach when they meet another couple, who happen to be lizards – as in reptiles – coming up from the depths of the ocean. Mr. Albee originally wrote Seascape as a three act play, and that version was presented in Vienna and The Hague prior to the show's Broadway premiere. The author was directing the original Broadway production, and he decided to cut it from three acts to two. As Mr. Albee told The New York Times in a 1975 interview, "At one point, part of it took place at the bottom of the sea. It was not necessary, too fantastic and very hard to construct a set that could transform itself. It was turning into a play about set changes."
